Exercise and I have never had a good relationship.
From a young age, I was always self-conscious and I felt like people were always staring and judging.
I thought I was done with any form of exercise until a friend asked if I wanted to try Zumba, and the rest is history.
Rachel is an amazing instructor, her energy is contagious and the love she has for dance is palpable. I left that first class loving Zumba. The way Rachel would always say ''Don't worry about the steps. Have fun. Do your own thing'' Those words stripped away my self-consciousness and my fear.
Zumba with Rachel has given me something to look forward to. It's an hour where I don't have to be perfect, I don't even have to be good. I just have to feel the music and move.
